Our Mission

The Division of University Advancement communicates the strategic objectives of Savannah State University to diverse audiences and cultivates relationships with alumni, donors, and the community; and, to generate external support that expands student and institutional achievement.

Our Vision

Securing the future of Savannah State University by fostering affinity for its mission and perpetuating its legacy.

Our Divisional Units

University Advancement is comprised of the following areas:  Advancement Services, Alumni Relations, Development, Event Services, Marketing & Communications, and the SSU Foundation, Inc.  As well, our unit works closely with the Savannah State National Alumni Association, Inc.

View 2021-2022 Honor Roll

The Tigers Pride Alumni Honor Roll is our way of recognizing our faithful alumni who have made a monetary gift during the fiscal year to Savannah State University.  We want to publicly thank each of you for your support throughout this year!  While the list only captures alumni donors, we are deeply THANKFUL to all our donors who supported the University financially in the 2021-2022 fiscal year.  Note: Anonymous donors and/or anonymous gifts from alumni are not included in the roll call.

ORAL HISTORY PROJECT

Savannah State University invites all alumni and friends to participate in the creation of an oral history publication that unites SSU across generations. The project is an opportunity to gather stories and collect memories that bring the Savannah State University experience to life.

SSU has partnered with Publishing Concepts (PCI) to capture your SSU stories and gather any biographical and contact updates as well.  There is NO cost to share your story, and we invite all alumni to participate. If interested, you will have an opportunity to reserve the publication as a hardbound book or digital collection. Expect to receive postcards, emails, and phone calls to encourage participation. Final publication will be delivered in book and digital formats in July of 2023 to alumni that reserve a copy.
