Cash

Cash is the simplest way to give, and it provides SSU with available funds immediately. Support the area you care about most today!

  • Credit/Debit Card: Make a gift safely and securely online today.
  • Check: Please make the check payable to Savannah State University Foundation and note the name of the fund in the Memo section. Mail to: Savannah State University, Division of University Advancement, 3219 College Street, Box 20439, Savannah, GA 31404.
  • Payroll Deduction: Available only to SSU faculty and staff. Learn more.

Securities

Making a securities gift is easy and has important benefits for both you and SSU.

  • You get an income tax deduction based on the value of the securities at the time you make the gift.
  • You avoid capital gains tax on the appreciated value of the securities.
  • The University can immediately use the proceeds for the purpose you specify or for general support of essential initiatives.

Valuation: The value of your securities gift will be the average of the high and the low trading prices on the official date of your gift. The date of gift is the day the University assumes ownership of the security.

Gifts-in-Kind

Items of personal property or physical assets may be of value as gifts to SSU. A voluntary contribution of goods or services can be used to advance the mission of Savannah State University. They can be readily converted to cash and may qualify as a charitable deduction for the person(s) making the gift.

Payroll Deduction (Faculty Staff Giving)

Faculty and Staff giving at Savannah State University is the culture of the campus.  Our faculty and staff are loyal supporters of the university and its students well beyond the professional ranks and duties of their various positions.  Members of the faculty and staff of the university may their annual donations via payroll deduction.

For every purchase you make through Amazon, 5% of your total purchase will be donated to SSU by Amazon.

We are excited to announce our partnership with HBCU Change. In addition to the traditional methods of giving back, you can also show how much you love your HBCU by automatically donating your spare change. While continuing to contribute to the University as you normally would, now you can also connect your debit and/or credit card through the app and the spare change from your purchases will be donated to Savannah State University.
