The Office of Development develops and implements comprehensive fund-raising strategies for identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of private gifts to Savannah State University from individuals, corporations, and foundations to advance the institution’s mission and priorities.
The role of Development is to represent broad university priorities; build a compelling case for support of SSU by forging mutually beneficial relationships and alliances and securing financial commitments; deepen corporate and foundation relationships in the community; serve as a resource to faculty & staff to encourage, facilitate, and assist in submitting private grant proposals; and, direct personal solicitation of donors capable of making gifts above $10,000.
